21. player. Pick Analysis. Justin Jefferson. 54. Scouting Report. Wide Receiver. LSU

If you watched the Philadelphia Eagles towards the end of last season, it was clear that they lacked wide receiver depth. They were playing with a former quarterback and a tight end lining up outside. Even if they get some guys back healthy, the organization is going to have to address the future of the position.

Justin Jefferson helped himself immensely at the Scouting Combine. While many thought Jefferson was more of a technically-sound, average athlete with good hands, Jefferson showed that he is much more.

Jefferson has the speed and athleticism to get open and make big plays at the NFL level. He is great out of the slot, where he could start out this year if Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson both return healthy. Then he can continue to develop into a true number one option for Carson Wentz, Doug Pederson and the Eagles offense of the future.

Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Clemson. Tee Higgins. 22. player. Scouting Report. 16

Here is another pick that sort of seems lazy at this point. Everyone and their brother mocked Tee Higgins to the Buffalo Bill for quite a while. Higgins has been falling down a lot of boards lately, but I still think this is a match made in heaven.

Josh Allen could really benefit from a big-body receiver with an incredible catch radius that he can just throw the ball up to and trust him to come down with it. That guy is Tee Higgins. He is more than that, though. He is a solid route runner with very good hands. He doesn’t have blazing speed and could develop his route tree further, but I really think Higgins is a first-round receiver and a great fit for the Bills.

Iowa. 47. Pick Analysis. A.J. Epenesa. 23. player. Scouting Report. Defensive End

A.J. Epenesa was a guy that had a less than stellar Scouting Combine. People didn’t exactly expect him to blow the top off of the place, but he really disappointed. The knock on Epenesa was his reliance on sheer strength, which may or may not be effective at the next level.

However, if anyone is going to develop a guy like Epenesa into a star, it would be Bill Belichick. He could give him a little time to develop into whatever role Bill wants him to fill, both body and brain. If he can find his niche and develop the necessary skills, Epenesa has shown that he can really impact football games.

LSU. 15. Patrick Queen. 24. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Linebacker

This prospect is just too good for the New Orleans Saints to pass up. They opt to keep Patrick Queen in New Orleans here in this 2020 NFL mock draft, filling a need at linebacker alongside Demario Davis.

I gave a lot of thought to receivers like Laviska Shenault and Denzel Mims, but Queen is a real steal at this point in the 2020 NFL Draft. This is a deep receiver class, allowing the Saints to find an impactful weapon a little later in the draft and allowing them to address this need on the defensive end of the field.
