2020 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders, Jaguars make big trades in round one
This pick is mostly assuming the Dallas Cowboys are not able to bring back Amari Cooper this offseason. Although regardless of their situation at receiver, every team could use a Jerry Jeudy.
Jeudy is the smoothest route runner that I have seen in quite some time. While he struggles a little bit with drops last season, Jerry Jeudy knows how to get open. He is great with the ball in his hands and has a nose for the end zone and first down marker.
To me, this may be the steal of this first round 2020 NFL mock draft. Andrew Thomas is probably my favorite tackle prospect at this point and the Dolphins are able to grab him at 18. Thomas is an absolute bruiser in the run game and I think he is very, very solid in pass protection as well.
After grabbing their franchise quarterback of the future with the fifth overall pick, Miami now grabs one of the best options in the 2020 NFL Draft to protect him. While it likely won’t be his blindside, Thomas would open tons of holes in the run game and hold his own against some of the best pass rushers in the league.
While linebacker is a more popular projection to the Las Vegas Raiders, in this 2020 NFL mock draft I go a different route. Kristian Fulton is a very solid corner prospect. He is physical at the line of scrimmage and throughout the route, staying right in the hip pocket of the receiver.
Fulton impressed at the combine, running a faster 40 time than most people expected. Fulton was very productive in his time at “DBU” and will surely be effective at the next level. Trayvon Mullen is a solid young piece at the position, but with Daryl Worley scheduled to hit the free-agent market, I would say corner may even be a bigger need than linebacker.
Part two of the Jacksonville Jaguars 2020 NFL mock draft defensive rebuild (stay tuned Jags fans). Xavier McKinney is one of my favorite 2020 NFL Draft prospects. He does everything on defense. Tackles, interceptions, pass breakups, forced fumbles and even sacks… McKinney produces across the board.
McKinney can play in a deep zone or right around the line of scrimmage. He would be a very valuable piece for the Jags to try to revamp their defense that was so great just a few seasons ago. After grabbing a shutdown corner early on in the draft, Jacksonville reinforces the secondary with the best safety prospect in the draft.
