Offensive Tackle. Louisville. Mekhi Becton. 9. Scouting Report. 30. Pick Analysis. player

The New York Jets make a small move, going up just two spots, but jumping the Cleveland Browns in doing so. It may just be two spots, but it could be a world of difference if the Jets have a certain guy in mind that they want. In all likelihood that guy would be one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft.

That guy, by my guess, would likely be Mekhi Becton. The 6-foot-7 and 360+ lb tackle ran a blazing 40 and was impressive throughout the combine. Becton’s athleticism is very clear on tape, as is his power and raw ability.

Becton is far from a refined, finished product as an NFL level tackle. He tends to really on his sheer strength, length and athleticism at times, but it typically worked for him in college. Will he be able to throw around NFL defenders? I’m not so sure. But coaching staffs will be licking their chops at the idea of molding this physical freak into one of the best tackles in NFL history.

The Jets make this jump just to ensure that they get their guy, locking in a young, talented blindside protector for their young quarterback in Sam Darnold. The Jets offensive line will be needing a near-complete overhaul, and a prospect like Becton would be a great start.
