Green Bay Packers: Top positional needs for 2020 offseason
Offensive Tackle
Getting better protection for Rodgers is going to be key for another potential run in 2020. The Green Bay Packers currently have three tackles set to hit free agency, including starting right tackle, Bryan Bulaga. Bulaga is now 30-years-old and coming off of an up and down season, and while I could see the Packers bringing him back on a short deal, I think finding his replacement would be in the best interest of the team.
There is nobody currently on the roster that would be a better option than Bulaga, so if they do make that decision, they would need to bring in a fresh face. The good news is that there are several significant names available in free agency that they could look to, including former All-Pro, Jack Conklin.
The 2020 NFL Draft could also offer some immediate help, as this crop of offensive tackles is as deep as it’s been in a while. Unfortunately, the Packers have the 30th overall pick and there will likely be a big run on tackles earlier than that. If they are lucky enough to have one of the top guys drop into their lap, don’t be surprised if they do pull the trigger.
First Round Draft Targets: Josh Jones (Houston), Mathew Peart (UCONN)
Free Agency Targets: Jack Conklin, Jason Peters
