The Green Bay Packers struck gold in free agency in 2019 after landing both Preston and Za’Darius Smith. They both were able to get after the quarterback consistently all year long and have solidified the edge for the Packers for the next few years. That being said, their stellar play did highlight a glaring weakness in the middle of the field, as teams looked to attack up the gut more and more as the season progressed.

Blake Martinez is the face of that linebacker unit and is coming off a huge season that saw him finish second in the entire NFL in tackles with 155. Unfortunately, his lack of athleticism and struggles keeping the run in front of him showed up far too often last season, with the NFC Championship game being the most glaring example.

He is now slated to hit free agency this offseason and even if the Packers do bring him back on a new deal, they have to target some help for him in free agency or the NFL Draft. Outside of Martinez, their interior linebacker group consists of B.J. Goodson and Oren Burks, so we could see Green Bay bring in a few new faces at the position in 2020.

First Round Draft Targets: Kenneth Murray (Oklahoma), Patrick Queen (LSU)

Free Agency Targets: Joe Schobert, Cory Littleton
