The Green Bay Packers put together an impressive first year under Matt LaFleur, but need to address several weaknesses this offseason.

The Green Bay Packers finished their first season under Matt LaFleur with a 13-3 record during the regular season and made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before being defeated by the San Francisco 49ers. While that is a terrific introduction for the first-year head coach, it felt as though the Packers were overachieving all season.

The team had some clear weaknesses at key positions on their roster and while the scent of victory was able to mask those for a while, Green Bay must address them this offseason if they want to make a legit Super Bowl run in 2020.

Aaron Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, but he’s now 36-years-old and did not look to have the same magic to his game as years past. That’s not to say he’s not still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but it does mean he is going to need more than an average offensive line and one legit target in the passing game to get it done.

The defense took a big step forward in 2019, due in large part to the stellar play of free-agent signees, Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith, but their excellence off the edge only highlighted their weaknesses elsewhere.

If LaFleur and company were able to put together a 13 win season with such glaring holes, imagine what the Green Bay Packers could do if they figured out a way to fill them this offseason. Here are the positional needs I would focus on as we near the new league year.
