Chargers 2020 mock offseason after Trai Turner trade
Second round: AJ Terrell, CB, Clemson
Although the primary focus of this mock offseason has been on the offensive side of the ball, the Chargers undoubtedly still have some needs to address defensively.
Notably, at cornerback.
AJ Terrell was victimized in the College Football Playoff but that shouldn’t diminish what was otherwise a very good 2019 season for him, and a very good past couple of seasons for the Tigers overall.
He has the length and speed teams covet at the cornerback position, and his five interceptions and 12 pass breakups over the past two seasons are indicative that he has a nose for the football as well.
He needs to add some strength to matchup with bigger, more physical NFL receivers, but this is a guy who can help the Chargers’ defense right away in 2020.
