2. Franchise tag Hunter Henry

Despite the fact that his availability has been in question over the past couple of years (the Chargers, in general, struggle with the injury bug), Hunter Henry is one of the top pass-catching tight ends in the NFL and is a weapon this team cannot afford to lose if they decide to sign a player like Jameis Winston.

Henry has 17 touchdowns and 98 first downs among his 136 career receptions, so he’s an obvious impact player every time he touches the ball.

The franchise tag would be worth it for Henry because the Chargers would not have to lock themselves into a long-term marriage yet in case he isn’t able to stay healthy in 2020.

With the franchise tag option on the table and the expectation that the Chargers are bringing in a new quarterback to start for them in 2020, they have to be prioritizing keeping one of their key weapons around.
