The rich get richer.

The Kansas City Chiefs replace Sammy Watkins in the 2020 NFL Draft with Denzel Mims, who ran a blazing 4.38 in the 40-yard dash and had a tremendous workout otherwise with a 6.66 in the three-cone drill and a 38.5-inch vertical jump.

As talented as Sammy Watkins is, I think Denzel Mims has a bit more of the ‘alpha’ mentality at the receiver position and he put that on display over the last three years with Baylor, catching 28 touchdown passes.

Combining Mims’ skillset and catch radius with guys like Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Mecole Hardman is just flat out unfair for opposing defenses.

Who are you supposed to cover one-on-one?

I think although the Chiefs have more pressing needs defensively, their calling card in this particular era is going to be out-scoring teams…by a lot.

Mims helps keep that ship sailing the same direction.
