Jacksonville Jaguars 7-round 2020 mock draft: A.J. Bouye trade shakeup
Perhaps this is a bit of a shock at the ninth overall pick, but it’s clear the Jacksonville Jaguars need help at the cornerback spot. They will open the 2020 season without their top two corners from the year before, so reinforcing the position has become the top priority.
C.J. Henderson is a polarizing corner prospect to a lot of the draft community. Henderson’s unwillingness to get involved in the run game and tackle has turned him off to plenty of analysts, but he’s up there with the best of the group in man coverage, showing great mirroring skills and the ability to break up passes down the field. He tested extremely well at the combine and solidified himself as a first-round pick. He comes off the board at nine.
With the second of their first-round picks, the Jaguars need to address the linebacker position, especially if Telvin Smith is indeed done playing football. Patrick Queen would be a great addition to the defense. Queen works well through traffic at the line of scrimmage, and has great finishing ability as a tackler.
His athleticism shows up in his change of direction skills and his work in coverage, and he was another standout at the combine. He likely won’t get out of the first round, so it’s huge for the Jaguars to pick up an impact linebacker in the first round.
