The Dallas Cowboys have three significant holes to fill this offseason that they’ll need to address in both free agency and the draft. Find out what they need and who they can target.

The 2020 NFL Draft is fast approaching, but first up is free agency. The Dallas Cowboys do have over $73 million to spend, however, most of that will be used to get new deals done with their own players. I expect new deals for Amari Cooper, Robert Quinn and of course their franchise quarterback Dak Prescott.

They also have lesser free agents they’d like to bring back in Randall Cobb, who played for new Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy for eight seasons in Green Bay. So re-signing their own guys seems to be the priority before free agency hits on March 18th.

Based off of Spotrac‘s market value projections the Dallas Cowboys would have just under $9.5 million left to spend in free agency after signing new deals for Cooper($19.7M), Quinn($11.8M) and Prescott($33M). So, they will definitely need to make some roster cuts. This also would mean that most of their upgrades would more than likely have to come from the draft, which makes it even more crucial to hit on their picks.

With everything being said here are the top three needs for the Dallas Cowboys.

Cornerback

It was known for a while that cornerback Byron Jones wasn’t going to be back in Dallas next season with the Cowboys, but it was all but made official last week when reports said the two sides met and expect to part ways when free agency hits in just a couple of weeks. They already had a need at corner with Jones, but now that need is more dire.

They won’t have enough money to sign a corner in free agency even if they make a cut or two, but luckily for them they can grab one in the draft. The Dallas Cowboys are in a perfect position at 17 overall to pick a top corner in the first round. Florida’s C.J. Henderson could be there top target after putting on a show at the combine.

Draft targets: C.J. Henderson (Florida), Kristian Fulton (LSU), Jeff Gladney (TCU), Noah Igbinoghene (Auburn), Damon Arnette (Ohio State)
