Teddy Bridgewater to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Just a year ago, it seemed like Teddy Bridgewater was in line to be the starting quarterback of the Miami Dolphins on a multi-year free agent contract.
Then Bridgewater spurned the Dolphins, turning down more money to return to the New Orleans Saints in hopes of taking the reins from Drew Brees in 2020. While that idea seemed sound on paper, Brees is coming back for the 2020 season and Bridgewater is finally going to move on.
The team that seems to be the most interested in Bridgewater right now is the Saints’ division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While Bridgewater may not be the ideal talent to play in a Bruce Arians offense, he takes care of the football and that’s something the Bucs may covet in a free agent quarterback after Jameis Winston threw 30 interceptions last season.
It seems that Winston will not be back regardless, and the Bucs’ free agent list above Winston appears to include Bridgewater, who did well in relief of Brees last season. He would be joining a Bucs team with a ton of talent at the skill positions.
