OT. Alabama. 5. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 59. Jedrick Wills Jr.

The Miami Dolphins would obviously love to snag a true franchise quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. They undoubtedly have plenty of draft capital to trade up if needed and have commonly been connected to both Tua and Herbert throughout the process. However, this scenario does not work well for them.

If the board falls as it does in this mock, nobody in the top three is going to want to trade down. They would obviously make a move with the Giants at No. 4, but the Chargers beat them to the punch here. Utah State quarterback Jordan Love could be an option for the Dolphins at No. 5. He is an extremely talented quarterback who has a high ceiling, but he is far from a safe bet to be a star at the next level. Love is a risky selection, especially in the top five.

Instead of forcing the quarterback selection here, the Dolphins begin to build a strong offensive base around whoever ends up being their franchise signal-caller. Alabama offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. stands out as a great pick for Miami.

Wills is arguably the best offensive line prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft. He is an incredibly powerful player who can absolutely maul defenders up front. He is not an elite athlete at the offensive tackle position, but he moves his feet well in pass protection and attacks the second-level at a high level.

Wills is an extremely talented offensive line prospect who undoubtedly has big-time upside at the next level. The Dolphins do not find their quarterback here, but they make a tremendous addition to an offensive line that needs a ton of help.
