2020 NFL Draft: Post-combine two-round 2020 NFL mock draft with trades
Noah Igbinoghene is arguably the best player left on the board and cornerback is a position of need for the Chicago Bears. Ignbinoghene is likely primarily a slot cornerback at the next level, but he has the potential to be a star at the position. If the Bears are going to get back on track in 2020, they need their defense to be dominant again. Igbinoghene can help them get there.
Can Tee Higgins separate at the next level? Nobody can say for sure. He is still a big and athletic wide receiver who has a large catch radius and can win in contested-catch situations. The Colts get their new quarterback a big and exciting target here.
Isaiah Wilson is a big and powerful offensive tackle who moves pretty well for his size. Right tackle is a major need for Tampa Bay, especially after they traded up for a rookie quarterback earlier in this mock. Wilson is a talented player who could quickly grow into a major asset up front.
There are undoubtedly durability concerns with Lucas Niang, but he is a long, strong and athletic offensive lineman who should be able to handle left tackle at the next level. If the Broncos want to move on from Garett Bolles, Niang is an exciting, high-upside option to replace him.
J.K. Dobbins has incredible ball carrier vision and a nice combination of quickness and power with the ball in his hands. He is a strong and dependable back who can be counted on to keep the chains moving on the ground and does have some upside in the passing game. The Falcons may move on from Devonta Freeman this offseason, opening up an opportunity for a guy like Dobbins to come in and shine.
Antoine Winfield Jr. is an impressive deep zone defender who has fantastic natural ball skills. He is an absolute playmaker on the back-end who could become an immediate contributor for the San Francisco 49ers.
If (when?) Bud Dupree leaves in free agency, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a major need on the edge. Here, they add Curtis Weaver to the mix. Weaver is a strong edge defender who tested better than was expected at the combine. He is a rock-solid edge defender who could help fill the void of Dupree if needed.
The Chicago Bears’ offense fell apart without the consistent threat of an impact tight end in the middle of the field last season. I’m not saying that Trey Burton‘s injury was the biggest reason for their ugly season, but it sure didn’t help. The Bears have to find more tight end depth this offseason and Cole Kmet is the best player at the position in the 2020 NFL Draft class. Kmet is a strong and athletic tight end prospect who has value as both a blocker and receiver.
The Cowboys will likely have holes all over their secondary when the enter the 2020 NFL Draft. They simply cannot ignore the defensive backfield for long. Damon Arnette drastically improved at Ohio State in 2019 and has the potential to be a good number two cornerback at the next level. A solid pick for Dallas here.
Austin Jackson was far too inconsistent for my liking in college. That being said, it is easy to see his athletic upside on tape, making him a guy worth taking a chance on in the second round. The Los Angeles Rams shoot for that upside at a major position of need for them and bring in the local kid.
The Philadelphia Eagles had many struggles at the cornerback position last season. If they want to jump back into their Super Bowl window, the Eagles would be wise to address their cornerback situation. A.J. Terrell had a rough showing in the National Championship Game, but Joe Burrow can do that to anyone. He is a good man-coverage defender who could be a strong contributor at the next level.
