South Carolina. Javon Kinlaw. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 17. player. 123. DT

The Dallas Cowboys are likely to have many needs in the secondary this offseason, especially if they let Byron Jones walk in free agency. I could certainly see them going in that direction with their first-round pick, but the interior defensive line also needs to be addressed. With Javon Kinlaw still on the board, the Cowboys waste no time to scoop him.

Kinlaw is an impressive interior defensive line prospect who shows an impressive combination of power and athleticism up front. He has long arms, an explosive first step and consistently gets strong upfield burst against the run and as a pass rusher. Kinlaw is a gifted interior defensive lineman who could come in and immediately help the Cowboys up front and also provide great long-term upside.

S. Alabama. Xavier McKinney. player. 59. Scouting Report. 18. Pick Analysis

With no worthy quarterback prospect available and the Dolphins taking an offensive tackle earlier in this mock, Miami simply sits back and takes one of the best players on the board. Xavier McKinney is an extremely talented and versatile safety prospect who could come in and make a major defensive impact for this team.

McKinney is a strong man-to-man player who excels as a slot defender. He is also a physical safety prospect who does a great job of coming up and helping against the run. McKinney also shows the necessary range and ball skills needed to make an impact as a deep zone defender. Simply put, this guy is a jack-of-all-trades who could immediately help improve the Dolphins’ defensive unit.
