Auburn. 46. DT. Derrick Brown. 13. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Derrick Brown did not have the most impressive performance at the combine. His 5.16 40-yard dash was okay, but his vertical and broad jump numbers (27-inch vertical and 9-foot broad jump) leave plenty to be desired. Even worse, Brown had terrible quickness scores, including an ugly time of 8.22 in the three-cone drill, which was not only the worst three-cone time of the day, it was the fourth-worst three-cone time of any prospect in combine history. Yikes.

These testing numbers will likely cause Brown to slip a bit, but we have to keep his film in mind. This guy is incredibly impressive on tape, showing fantastic power in the middle of the field and plenty of athleticism for a defensive tackle. Brown is a premier run defender who certainly still has some pass-rush upside. The Indianapolis Colts have massive needs at the defensive tackle position and Brown still has a chance to be dominant at the next level. He is a great fit at No. 13.

EDGE. LSU. K'Lavon Chaisson. 14. Scouting Report. player. 30. Pick Analysis

Offensive tackle is probably the Jets’ biggest need on the roster, but edge rusher is not far behind. After trading down a few picks, the Jets address their edge need by bringing in K’Lavon Chaisson out of LSU.

Chaisson is an extremely explosive and athletic edge rusher who shows the ability to consistently create pressure as a speed rusher. He also shows great discipline as a run defender and is stronger than you think. Chaisson is a bit of a raw player, but he has big-time upside and a well-rounded game. Nice pick for the Jets here after the trade down.
