Improving the Atlanta Falcons with a complete seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft.

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off of a disappointing 7-9 season where they were never really competitive in the NFC South. The Falcons have too much talent not to be competing for a division championship each season.

With only $4.3 million in cap space to work with this offseason, the Falcons are unlikely to make much noise in free agency. With that being the case, most of their improvements this offseason will have to come via the 2020 NFL Draft.

In this post, we are going to go through a complete seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft for the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are not going to have many opportunities to fill all of their needs this offseason. Let’s see if we can find an ideal path to success for the Atlanta Falcons in this seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft.

Note: This mock draft was completed using The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine.

Pick Analysis. K'Lavon Chaisson. 1. 817. Scouting Report. LSU. player. EDGE

The Falcons first go on the clock here in this 2020 NFL mock draft with the 16th overall pick. Edge rusher stands out as the most obvious need for this team and they address it immediately here.

K’Lavon Chaisson was not the most productive player in college, but his natural upside on the edge is incredibly obvious. Chaisson is incredibly explosive off of the ball, showing a fantastic first step and tremendous upfield burst as a pass rusher. Chaisson bends around the edge with ease and closes on the quarterback in an instant.

While Chaisson is clearly an impressive speed rusher on the edge, he also shows strong power at the point of attack. He has heavy hands and does a great job of setting the edge. He converts from speed to power extremely well and shows an impressive array of pass-rush moves.

Simply put, Chaisson is one of the most talented defensive players in the 2020 NFL Draft class and he would help fill a massive need for the Atlanta Falcons up front. Chaisson falling to No. 16 could quickly end up being the biggest steal of the first round.
