2020 NFL Draft: Potential trade-up targets for the Dallas Cowboys
Round Three
The Dallas Cowboys need pass rush help, which is something I never thought I would say after they locked up DeMarcus Lawrence, but here we are. Lawrence, who is making $21 million a year, only had five sacks last season which obviously is not good. They did make a very good trade for Robert Quinn, but after getting 11.5 sacks in 2019, he’s set to get paid by another team.
Khalid Kareem is projected to go in the third round and Dallas could look to move up to secure his services. He has great potential as a pass rusher, but he’ll help out right away in defending the run. Fixing that defensive line should be on the minds of the front office.
Raekwon Davis is a tough prospect to gauge. I’m sure the NFL is way higher on him as a prospect then the media is. He’s had some great plays if you turn on his tape from 2017, but he’s pretty much disappeared since then.
He’s a mammoth of a man at 6-foot-7 and 311 pounds and has loads of potential to develop into a solid interior pass rusher. The question may be if he could put it all together. The Dallas Cowboys could sure use a big anchor in the defense and Davis definitely has the potential to be just that.
It’s been mentioned many times in this slide show that the Dallas Cowboys need to add to their cornerback room. Bryce Hall may not be a starter right away, but he should still contribute right away. He’s not a great man corner so he’ll need to be put in the right situation in order to succeed.
Dallas may have to draft two corners anyway, so if they do take one in the first or second Hall would be a nice compliment to that. He does have length which is good, but he’s not very athletic. He may try to go after the ball a bit much instead of his man which will hurt him at the next level.
With all that being said he has the potential to be a very solid starter in the NFL. That is what should make trading up for Hall worth it. They won’t have to move up much, if at all, to get him either.
