Cleveland Browns seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft
By Ian Higgins
2019 Starters: Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham Jr, Damion Ratley
A physical big-body receiver out of Liberty, Antonio Gandy-Golden’s draft stock has dropped throughout the course of the season due to concerns surrounding his speed. Golden understands how to use his frame to box out defenders and leverage himself into the path of the ball. In high-point scenarios on 50-50 balls, Golden fights physically to the football and battles through contact to make the play.
Currently, on the Cleveland Browns wide receiver depth chart, the three leading receivers mentioned above have an average height of 6-foot, the tallest of which being Ratley at only 6-foot-2. Golden comes in at 6-foot-4, towering over NFL corners and creating a unique red-zone mismatch to be utilized by Mayfield.
*Pick comes to Cleveland Browns via Arizona
2019 Starters: Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams
Currently led by two high-quality cornerback prospects in Ward and Williams, there is currently a void in the Browns secondary at the nickel corner position., Levonta Taylor is a 5-foot-9 corner out of Florida State who has shown to be the quick, surprisingly physical undersized corner who can operate out of the slot and keep up with today’s modern NFL slot receivers.
*Pick comes to Cleveland Browns via Green Bay
2019 Starters: Christian Kirksey, Joe Schobert, Tae Davis
Earning a senior bowl invitation regardless of playing at Appalachain State, Akeem Davis-Gaither measures in at only 6-foot-2, 216 pounds but has proven to be a viable selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Gaither is considered such an interesting prospect because of his combination of size and aggressiveness inside the box. Exemplifying the ‘money backer’ mentality, Gaither could slide anywhere from outside linebacker to strong safety and even slot corner with the right coaching.
