Arizona Cardinals: Combine week seven-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft
The Arizona Cardinals defensive line is known for one reason and one reason only: Chandler Jones. It’s time to change that. With their second-round pick, the Cardinals select the explosive interior defensive lineman from Texas A&M, Justin Madubuike.
Madubike is an interior defensive lineman with a whole lot of pass-rush upside; he has incredible explosiveness and will beat offensive tackles out of the blocks. He has a fantastic ability to penetrate gaps and use his active hands to work around offensive linemen.
Selecting a pass-rush first defensive tackle will bring an aggressive attitude to the interior defensive line and will give Chandler Jones a solid running mate to clear up some lanes.
After signing DJ Humphries to an extension, the Arizona Cardinals were given flexibility at the beginning of the draft, but it shouldn’t be ignored. In this case, they address the position in the third round. The player they select is Auburn left tackle, Prince Tega-Wanogho.
I know what you’re saying, but why would they select a left tackle when they re-signed Humphries? The reason behind this is because I think Wanogho could start out at right tackle in the NFL. He’s relatively new to the game of football and every year he’s played, he seems to get better. I think whatever team picks him could stick him at right tackle to start his career and finish his development before moving him to the left side.
