With their first pick in the third round of this mock draft, the Jets address the cornerback position, which could take on a bit of a makeover in the 2020 offseason.

Despite the fact that it wouldn’t save a ton of cap space, the team is rumored to be likely to cut former big-money free agent pickup Trumaine Johnson.

The Jets also have Brian Poole and Maurice Canady as unrestricted free agents this offseason.

Bryce Hall is coming off of an injury-plagued senior season at Virginia, but he was a top 50 projected player going into the year. It was actually quite a surprise that he went back to school for a senior season after an outstanding 21 pass breakups as a junior.

Although his production has not matched his talent (mostly due to QB play), Peoples-Jones could be a really nice value here for the Jets to add a big-bodied receiver with speed and YAC ability.

Peoples-Jones got to show because of that poor QB play his ability to adjust to the football in the air with his outstanding body control and strong hands.

I think the Jets could utilize he and Tee Higgins similar to the way Adam Gase once deployed Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker with the Denver Broncos.
