The New Orleans Saints are 37-11 in the regular season since 2017. However, they have been sent home on a walk off score 3 straight years. What do the Saints need to put them over the top?

This New Orleans Saints team has been through an eventful three-year stretch to say the least.

You can make a compelling argument that year in and year out they have been the best team in the league since 2017. But all of these fantastic seasons have ended in heartbreaking fashion. Saints fans are trying to figure out what their team needs to do in order to overcome these heartbreaks.

Their roster is among the elite in the league in both talent and depth. Drew Brees coming back for another season will give the Saints continued stability at the QB position for the time being. Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Jared Cook are an elite core of skill position players. The defense brings back Demario Davis, Marshon Lattimore, and Cameron Jordan to a unit that was 7th in total defense and 11th in defensive DVOA.

There will be some decisions for the Saints front office to face this upcoming offseason. Many players that have started or provided solid depth are hitting the market including: Teddy Bridgewater, Andrus Peat, A.J. Klein, P.J. Williams, Vonn Bell, and Taysom Hill. Numbers aren’t official yet but it looks as if the Saints will only have $8-12 million in cap space to work with.

With this being the case, the organization will surely need to fill up depth through the draft. What positions will be the most important to fill out in order to make a championship run?
