The cemented number one overall selection, the only way Burrow is being removed from the top slot in the 2020 NFL draft is if a non-quarterback needy team is to trade for the selection and take Ohio State’s Chase Young with the pick. Burrow came from the woodwork of college football to lead LSU to a national championship and pick up a Heisman trophy along the way.
Burrow is being looked at as a franchise quarterback with all of the qualities to lead a team to the promised land. As seen in the above-linked scouting report, Burrow is a strong passer with his football IQ and arm talent. Other prospects like Justin Herbert are going to impress you with their pure arm talent more than Burrow, but he is more than capable of fitting the ball into tight windows and making plays from the pocket.
Some mechanical concerns do plague Burrow, hampering accuracy and limiting some of his college production, but outstanding performances throughout the college football playoffs against some of the top teams in the nation quiet those questions and move them onto the NFL level.
Burrow looks to be the next franchise quarterback, the prize of the 2020 NFL draft. The injury of Tua Tagovailoa made the selection a clear decision, and Burrow possesses all of the tangibles and intangibles to make it at the next level.
