Aside from EDGE, the cornerback position stands out as the biggest need for the New York Jets on the defensive side of the ball. After going offense heavy through the early part of this draft, we were not able to snag a cornerback early. Luckily, Oklahoma State cornerback A.J. Green falls a bit in this mock draft, allowing the Jets to grab great value in the fifth round.

Green is a long and athletic cornerback prospect who shines in zone coverage. He shows strong quickness and speed at the position and does a great job of reading the quarterback and breaking on the ball. Green shows great overall ball skills and would likely make an impact for the New York Jets as an outside cornerback.

After waiting so long to address the cornerback position, it made sense for the New York Jets to double-dip at the position late. Between Green and Nebraska cornerback Lamar Jackson, the Jets should be able to land at least one productive player at the position.

Jackson has great size at the cornerback position and he knows how to use it well. He is long and aggressive at the line of scrimmage and plays with physicality throughout the route. Jackson also shows impressive ball skills in all situations.

RB. JaMycal Hasty. player. 860. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Baylor. 7

With their final pick of this mock draft, the Jets snag another offensive playmaker. JaMycal Hasty is a quick and elusive runner who is incredibly difficult to keep in check in the open field. He does a great job of keeping a low center of gravity and shows fantastic contact balance.

Hasty is a threat as a runner, but he also shows tremendous ability as a receiver out of the backfield. Running back is not a major position of need for the Jets, but Hasty is an impact offensive playmaker who is worth taking a shot on late.
