The New York Jets continue to build around franchise quarterback Sam Darnold in this complete seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft.

After a disappointing 7-9 season, many expected the New York Jets to fire head coach Adam Gase. However, the Jets are continuing to move forward with Gase in charge and will try to get their franchise on track.

Sam Darnold has had an up-and-down first two years of his career, but he is still an extremely talented and promising player who could lead this team to success. When it comes down to it, nothing is more important for this team than getting Darnold on track to becoming a successful franchise quarterback. They should use the 2020 NFL Draft as an opportunity to build a strong and stable roster around Darnold.

In this seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft, the New York Jets are going to make helping Darnold a priority. With their first selection, the Jets find Darnold a long-term protector.

Scouting Report. OT. Andrew Thomas. 1. player. 814. Pick Analysis. Georgia

The New York Jets go on the clock with the 11th overall pick of this mock draft and three offensive tackles were already off of the board. Fortunately, there are four offensive tackles worth considering at No. 11 in this draft class and Andrew Thomas is still on the board for the Jets.

Thomas is a big and powerful offensive tackle who absolutely dominates at the point of attack. He fires off of the ball quickly and absolutely man-handles almost anybody who is lined up across from him. Thomas is not the most fleet of foot, but he has enough quickness to get the job done at the second-level.

Thomas is also an extremely smart and aware pass protector who does a great job of keeping himself between the defender and his quarterback. He understands space extremely well, riding the edge rusher up the field and giving his quarterback an easy lane to step up in to. Thomas also gets in his pass sets quickly and efficiently and anchors at an extremely high level.

Simply put, Thomas is an elite-level run blocker who also shows good pass protection ability. The New York Jets have a massive hole at the offensive tackle position and Thomas is among the best in the class. He is an obvious choice for them at No. 11.
