Ohio State. Damon Arnette. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. player. 812. 4

This wouldn’t be the pick at 17 rather the Dallas Cowboys could trade back if Fulton and Henderson are off the board when they are on the clock. The Cowboys could pick up another selection on Day 2 while addressing their cornerback need with Ohio State product Damon Arnette.

Arnette has a solid base at 6-feet and 195 pounds combined with great balance and quickness which is a big reason why he excels in press coverage. His long arms and sound technique allow him to break up passes without committing any penalties.

Even though he lacks elite speed, Arnette has the quickness to stay with his man. He may not be athletically gifted like Byron Jones, but he is a first-round cornerback who can be a great cover corner on Sundays.

Jeff Gladney. 5. 872. Scouting Report. Cornerback . player. Pick Analysis. TCU

Another trade back option would be TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney. He has good length but needs to add on some weight to his frame or he’ll be tossed around by NFL receivers. Gladney would bring the athleticism that the Dallas Cowboys would be losing in Byron Jones.

He has great speed to run with the deep ball threats as well as the physicality to help out in the run game. He is a willing tackler which is an overlooked trait for cornerbacks. If he lets up a completion in front of him, he’ll wrap him up not allowing extra yards.
