Cincinnati Bengals: Top positional needs for the 2020 NFL Draft
3. Wide Receiver
This is a position that has a lot of depth in the 2020 NFL draft and while it may not seem like a big need for the Bengals, I believe they can look to improve their depth at wide receiver. Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green will become a free agent this offseason and if they decide to move on from the veteran, they are more likely to add a receiver in the middle rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Cincinnati Bengals number two receiver Tyler Boyd has posted back-to-back seasons of 1,000 yards or more. Their number three receiver is John Ross and he had his most productive season for the Bengals last season. Both receivers will look to lead this team next season and improve even more on their stats from a year ago.
The Bengals will need to look for a compliment to pair alongside Boyd if they part ways with Green. I expect the Cincinnati Bengals will move on from Green because of his age and health issues over the past couple of seasons.
A player I like the most that would fit the bill for this Bengals team is KJ Hamler from Penn State. He is a speedster and a big-play receiver and he showed that during his time at Penn State.
Hamler brings that deep-threat ability and can stretch defenses downfield. He can score from anywhere on the field. With Boyd, Ross and Auden Tate on the roster, the Cincinnati Bengals could bring Kamler along slowly. However, he undoubtedly has the long-term upside to be a fantastic playmaker for this team down the line.
Hamler may be available for the Cincinnati Bengals when they make their third-round selection on the second night of the 2020 NFL Draft.
