In this Washington Redskins mock draft, we examine a scenario where a trade back occurs.

The Washington Redskins seem to finally be getting some stability in their franchise. They finally got rid of Bruce Allen and brought in a well-respected head coach in Ron Rivera. The Redskins will be entering the free agency period with some questions, especially surrounding guard Brandon Scherff. At just 28 years old, Scherff will likely get money near $15-16 million a season, and Washington has the space to bring him back.

Corner and tight end are other big needs for Washington and something to watch in free agency. Byron Jones might hit the free-agent market, and Washington could decide to pony up for him. The other name to watch is Austin Hooper, as it sounds like he’s not returning to Atlanta.

However, with that uncertainty looming, there’s no guarantee that Washington gets any of those players. As we turn here to the 2020 NFL Draft and this mock, the Redskins have the number two pick and then don’t pick until round three. It might be in their best interest to trade, despite the fact that Chase Young is there for the taking. Let’s look at one scenario here.

In this trade, Washington trades back with Miami, and they get a nice haul in return, receiving pick five, 26, and 56 in the coming draft. The Dolphins potentially will move up for a quarterback, and it makes sense for both parties. This trade will help them address some pressing needs, and that’s what will happen in this mock draft. Let’s take a look at who they could select in April if trading back is the move.
