In a promising rebirth of the previously failed XFL, players have come to the forefront and shown promise for the NFL. Which players can make the jump?

Through only two weeks of play, the XFL has begun to take shape. This experimental league from its rules to its players is taking the leftovers of the NFL and applying it into a league that is designed for entertainment and the interpretation of the purity of the game. Many of these NFL castaways are extremely talented athletes who lacked the technical polish to compete for an NFL roster spot.

None of these players are going to be vying for the major contracts of legitimate NFL players, but will instead be showcasing their talents in hopes of gaining the opportunity for a chance in an NFL franchises training camp. Many of these players do already have NFL game tape associated with them from previous seasons, so instead of showcasing their athleticism will be looking to prove their growth in areas of improvement from their previous NFL stints.

Finally, this article will only be covering offensive players that will have a chance to move on to the NFL. Through two weeks in the XFL season, the current interception leaders are tied at one and sack leaders at two. Defensive players need more time to come to the forefront of football conversation without the accessibility to advanced analytics.

Throughout the course of the XFL season, more defensive players will continue to make their mark on the world of football and look to contribute to an NFL defense in the near future.

In addition to what was mentioned above, I personally don’t feel any XFL running backs (ex: Matt Jones, Cameron Artis-Payne) have proven themselves worthy of consideration for an NFL roster spot. With the plethora of talent available on the open market and through the draft, the running back position is one of the most saturated in sports.
