Scouting Report. Quarterback. 6. player. Pick Analysis. Oregon. Justin Herbert. 13

The Los Angeles Chargers are finished with Philip Rivers after 16 seasons, but they find their quarterback for the next decade in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. Justin Herbert has tremendous arm talent as well as the athletic ability needed to succeed at the next level. I have little doubt that he can be a very good NFL quarterback.

Scouting Report. 7. player. 87. Pick Analysis. Interior DL. Auburn. Derrick Brown

New head coach Matt Rhule knows he has to build his team from the inside and while they could’ve gone offensive line here, Derrick Brown was too hard to pass up. Some may say this is too high for an interior defensive lineman, but Brown is a top-five talent and you do not pass on that.

Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Oklahoma. player. 32. Scouting Report. CeeDee Lamb. 8

Arizona just resigned left tackle D.J. Humphries to a three-year deal worth up to $45 million which means they should be poised to take a pass catcher early. Why not reunite Kyler Murray with his former Sooners teammate CeeDee Lamb?  The Cardinals offense could look very intriguing going into 2020.

Scouting Report. Isaiah Simmons. 52. Pick Analysis. Linebacker. Clemson. 9. player

The Jaguars will be running this pick to the podium as Isaiah Simmons seems to be a consensus top-five talent. The reality is Telvin Smith is likely not coming back to football which means Jacksonville needs a linebacker to fill his spot. Simmons may be position-less to some but he’s an athletic freak and an impressive good football player.

10. 53. Pick Analysis. Tristan Wirfs. Iowa. player. Scouting Report. Offensive Tackle

The Cleveland Browns must protect Baker Mayfield who regressed in his second season. A poor offensive line played a big role in that, however. Tristan Wirfs is my second rated offensive tackle so he becomes Mayfield’s blindside protector in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

Louisville. Mekhi Becton. 11. player. 30. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. Scouting Report

The New York Jets were a disaster for the first half of the season. The offensive line was a mess and their young quarterback was forced to run for his life. Expect the Jets to go hard after interior offensive lineman in free agency as they target a top tackle early in the draft.

Mekhi Becton is a physical freak at 6-foot-7 and 369 pounds, but he moves very well for his size. New York hopes he’ll protect Sam Darnold for ten plus years.

Alabama. Jerry Jeudy. player. 28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 12. Wide Receiver

The Raiders will be playing in a new stadium and in a new state. I thought long and hard about taking a quarterback here, but Jerry Jeudy is still on the board and they desperately need pass catchers. I really don’t know who will be throwing him the ball, but whoever it is will be happy.

Jeudy has been talked about for a very long time and for good reason. He’s one of the best route runners I have ever seen at the collegiate level. He shows great separation ability and has plus speed at the next level. Raiders are getting a blue-chip prospect.

Jordan Love. 13. player. Scouting Report. Utah State. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. 46

Yeah, I know Colts fans probably won’t love this pick, but you guys desperately need a quarterback. And don’t say Brissett is the answer because he’s not. Oh yeah, Philip Rivers is a free agent, but guess what he’s not a sure bet to sign in Indianapolis.

The Colts already have a solid offensive line and run game so I get the idea of signing Rivers, but wouldn’t you want to get your quarterback of the future now? Although Love could sit for a year. Time will tell. Jordan Love has great potential and talent to be a franchise quarterback.

Defensive Lineman. Javon Kinlaw. Pick Analysis. 14. player. 48. Scouting Report. South Carolina

Another quarterback-needy team, but this is where I actually see Rivers landing. So with their quarterback in place they are able to get one of my favorite players in the draft Javon Kinlaw. He’s a physical freak that could dominate any offensive lineman. Todd Bowles will be very happy to be able to work with a prospect with Kinlaw’s potential.

45. Scouting Report. player. Georgia. Andrew Thomas. 15. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle

The Denver Broncos seem to have found their franchise quarterback in Drew Lock, now they must protect him. Andrew Thomas was once considered the consensus top tackle in this class, but his stock has slowly diminished due to the belief that he would be a better guard than tackle.

Nevertheless, this is tremendous value for Denver. If Thomas cannot cut it as a left tackle he could transform into a top guard at the next level. Either way, the Broncos are getting a very talented player for their offensive line.
