Three-Round 2020 NFL Mock Draft: Seven WRs taken in first round
In this three-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft, seven wide receivers land in a crazy first round.
The 2020 NFL Scouting Combine is nearly here and in just three days prospects will start to fill Lucas Oil Stadium. This is where guys can really help themselves improve their draft stock. Players will not only be showing off their physical tools, but they’ll also get a chance to make a good first impression when they meet face to face with teams.
In this three-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft, there will be no trades. It’s still too early to tell which teams will have the urge to move up. The Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers are two obvious candidates right now. I will start to implement trades as we get closer to the draft.
The SEC was well represented especially in the first round of my 2020 NFL Mock Draft. There were fourteen total players selected in round one from the SEC. Both Alabama and LSU led with five players each going in round one.
This 2020 NFL Mock Draft was put together with the help from The Draft Network’s draft simulator.
The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t going to mess around (I think) with this pick as they take the best quarterback in college football. Burrow had one of the best seasons I had ever seen throwing for 5671 yards with 60 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. Don’t overthink it, Cincy. Take the kid.
Another obvious pick for Washington is to take possibly the best pass rusher to come out of Ohio State and that’s saying a lot considering the Bosa brothers were insanely good when they were entering the draft. Chase Young has the ability and potential to be even better than those guys.
Imagine that front seven with Young, Sweat. Payne and Allen? They’ll be wreaking havoc for a long time in the NFC East.
This is a big trade down candidate as they can swap with a quarterback-needy team and still come away with the big fish at corner. However, with no trades in my 2020 NFL Mock Draft, they’ll have to stay put to select Okudah. The Ohio State product is as flawless as they come. He’ll have no problem stepping in next to Darius Slay as the number two corner. Unless Detroit actually makes the mistake of trading him, Okudah would be just fine as the number one corner.
This is a no brainer selection for Dave Gettleman. The best-case scenario for the Giants would be trading down one or two spots with Miami or the Chargers as both teams are in the hunt for a quarterback. Wills Jr. will still be the pick either way.
I expect the Giants to go hard after top right tackle Jack Conklin in free agency. Adding him and Jedrick Wills Jr. will solidify the offensive line. Nate Solder has been a disaster so instead of a restructure, I would part ways with him completely.
The Miami Dolphins finally get their guy. They were supposed to “Tank for Tua” in 2019 but they found themselves to be pretty competitive as they won five games. They are still in a position to select the Alabama quarterback.
Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t have to play right away as Ryan Fitzpatrick is under contract for one more season which will allow him to sit until he’s fully recovered.
