New York Giants complete seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft
EDGE is a massive need for the New York Giants and I would not be surprised to see them double-dip at the position. In the sixth-round of this mock draft, the Giants bring South Carolina edge rusher D.J. Wonnum into the mix.
Wonnum has a quick first step and shows plenty of power at the point of attack. He is not a freak athlete on the edge, but Wonnum does show some solid upfield burst as a pass rusher and a wide variety of pass rush moves. Wonnum is a rock-solid run defender who has shown the ability to kick inside and create pressure as an interior rusher. He is a good player who is worth taking a chance on this late in the draft.
The Giants made an addition at linebacker earlier in this mock, but they could certainly use some depth across the position. Mohamed Barry is a talented linebacker prospect who shows good range and athleticism at the position. He is also a physical and high-motor player who has a great nose for the ball.
The 2020 NFL Draft is absolutely loaded at the wide receiver position. This causes many talented receivers to drop down the board and a guy like Quintez Cephus could be available late in the seventh round.
Cephus is a physical receiver who has a wide catch radius. He shines in contested-catch situations and does a nice job of creating with the ball in his hands. Cephus is not the most naturally explosive or athletic receiver in this class, but he is a talented and reliable guy who should be able to make an impact at the next level. He could quickly become a reliable depth piece for the Giants.
