Edge rusher stands out as a major position of need for the New York Giants this offseason. It becomes an even bigger need if Markus Golden leaves in free agency. In the second round of this mock draft, the Giants snag Michigan edge rusher Josh Uche to help fill the need.

Uche is an extremely explosive and athletic edge rusher who can win with raw speed around the corner. He is quick off of the ball, bends around the edge with ease and closes on the quarterback extremely quickly. Uche can also drop back into coverage a bit, giving him plenty of versatility on the defensive side of the ball.

The Giants do not have a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft so their next selection comes here in the fourth round. Linebacker is also a major need for this team and Malik Harrison is an interesting prospect who brings quality value in this range.

Harrison is a physical inside linebacker who shows impressive block shed ability. He works through traffic extremely well and is a reliable tackler in space. Harrison does have some lapses in coverage, but he does have the combination of quickness and athleticism needed to grow in this area. The Giants make another significant addition to their defensive front seven here.

5. 443. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Notre Dame. Troy Pride Jr.

Troy Pride Jr. is a long and relatively athletic cornerback prospect who shines in zone coverage on the outside. He reads the opposing quarterback well and shows strong overall ball skills for a cornerback. Pride is a gifted cornerback prospect who could provide immediate value at the next level. Snagging him in the fifth round would be a strong move for the New York Giants.
