Chicago Bears 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Considering trade options
Stanford Samuels III is a former highly-ranked recruit who had a strong career at Florida State. He has plenty of length on the outside and shows good ball skills at the position. Samuels is a strong zone coverage player who shows great instincts in coverage.
That being said, he has a slight frame and lacks functional strength at this point in his career. Samuels was bullied by bigger receivers in college and that will likely continue to be the case at the next level if he can not bulk up a bit. If Samuels can put some meat on his bones, he undoubtedly has tremendous upside. In the sixth-round of this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Chicago Bears take a flyer on his high ceiling as a boundary cornerback.
Darryl Williams is not the most physically gifted offensive lineman around. He shows solid quickness and functional athleticism, but he is never going to be too impressive in space. Similarly, his power at the point of attack is adequate, but he is never going to be a road grader who consistently moves big defensive tackles out of the way.
However, Williams is a smart and high-motor offensive lineman who can play center and guard. His overall upside is limit, but he is a rock-solid football player who will get the job done most of the time. If nothing else, Williams should have a solid career as a versatile depth piece on the interior. The Bears need some more consistency on their offensive line and Williams should help in that department.
With their final pick of this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Bears take a flyer on former Texas A&M wide receiver Kendrick Rogers. Rogers is a big target who shows a big catch radius and impressive ball skills on the outside. He even has a bit of speed for a big target and has had some success in contested-catch situations. Rogers is an unrefined player with a low floor, but there is some upside here as well.
