Chicago Bears 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Considering trade options
We teased it earlier and here it is. Instead of using both of their second-round picks, the Chicago Bears trade down with their later second-round pick in this 2020 NFL mock draft. The New York Jets are the team coming up to pick 50, sending the Bears a third-round selection (68th overall) and a fourth-round pick (110th overall). The Bears also send the Jets a pick in the seventh round.
This deal does move the Bears back a bit, but it allows them to pick up a valuable selection in the middle rounds. This team has many legitimate needs on both sides of the ball, adding another pick to help fill those needs could undoubtedly come in handy.
With the 68th overall pick in this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Chicago Bears select Bradlee Anae, an edge rusher out of Utah. Anae is a talented player who would fill an immediate position of need for this team. Anae should be in the mix for Chicago at pick 50. Landing him after the trade back would be an ideal situation for this team.
Anae does not have ideal length, overall athleticism or flexibility on the edge. He is not a dynamic speed rusher who is going to fly around the corner and consistently attack the quarterback. That being said, he is an impressive football player who is going to make an impact on each snap.
Anae is quick off of the ball and shows plenty of power at the point of attack. He shows advanced hand usage, sets the edge extremely well and can get after the quarterback with a variety of pass-rush moves. While Anae may not be the sexiest player, he is a high-motor player who defends against the run extremely well and can rush the passer on the edge. He would be able to come in and make an immediate impact for the Chicago Bears.
