2. Byron Jones, CB

The Dallas Cowboys are unlikely to be able to pay everybody this offseason and cornerback Byron Jones seems like the guy who is most likely to get away from them. Jones does not create many turnovers at the cornerback position, but he has become a true lockdown option on the outside who would immediately become an important part of their defensive unit.

Jones is a long and athletic cornerback who is impressive in press coverage. He has quick feet, good long speed and tremendous leaping ability. Jones is the kind of guy who you can simply line up across from the opposing team’s best receiver and let him go to work. Jones can legitimately shut down half of the field which is obviously a massive weapon for any defensive unit.

Cornerback is probably not quite as big of a need for the Las Vegas Raiders as linebacker or wide receiver, but they certainly do not have anybody like Jones on the roster. Guys like Trayvon Mullen, Isaiah Johnson and Nick Nelson have some upside but this team undoubtedly lacks a true number one cornerback on the outside. If Gruden and company are looking to spend big in free agency, Jones should undoubtedly be toward the top of their target list.
