After spending big money on Tyrell Williams last offseason, I doubt that the Raiders will be active at the top of the wide receiver free-agent market. It’s not impossible, but I would be surprised to see the Raiders heavily target top-tier free-agent receivers like Amari Cooper, A.J. Green and Robby Anderson. Instead, the Raiders are more likely to attack the low-to-mid-range of free agency to fill their wide receiver need and Breshad Perriman feels like a perfect fit.

In Williams, the Raiders have a size guy who can make plays in jump-ball situations. In Hunter Renfrow, they have a quick and shifty slot receiver who can make plays in the middle of the field. What the Las Vegas Raiders need is speed on the outside. They need a wide receiver who can consistently stretch the defense and make plays in the deep passing game.

Perriman is a former first-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens, but he is largely considered a bust. He has bounced around the league for the last few years but really seemed to come into his own with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. In 2019, Perriman caught 36 passes for 645 yards and six touchdowns. He was a consistent target for Jameis Winston in the passing game, showing the ability to make plays downfield and create separation against tight coverage.

Perriman is an explosive and athletic wide receiver who really took his game to the next level with the Bucs in 2019. His speed and likely contract value make him an obvious target for the Raiders.
