Houston Texans seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft
The offensive line has been a consistent issue for the Texans over the last few years. They invested heavily in the position last year, draft Tytus Howard in the first round, Max Scharping in the second and trading a ton of draft capital for Laremy Tunsil. The offensive line improved this season, but they still need depth up front. With their early fourth-round selection, the Texans add some depth with the addition of Damien Lewis, an offensive guard out of LSU.
Lewis is a big and stout offensive lineman who shows strong hands and a ton of power at the point of attack. Lewis can clear out consistent lanes in the run game and shows plenty of promise as a pass protector. He was the starting right guard at LSU the last two seasons and consistently played at a high level for the team.
The Texans still have plenty of questions across their offensive line, but this unit is starting to come together well. Lewis could come in and immediately battle for the starting right guard position and at worst, would be a nice depth addition.
Cornerback stood out as a position of weakness for the Houston Texans last season. Now, both starting cornerbacks, Johnathan Joseph and Bradley Roby, are hitting free agency. I am sure this position will be a priority for this team in free agency, but they should also be looking for a potential long-term option at the position in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A.J. Green is a good athlete on the outside and has solid length and overall size for the cornerback position. He is a smart player who is strong in zone coverage and presses at the line of scrimmage well. Green is a gifted cornerback prospect who could be a major steal in this range of the 2020 NFL Draft.
