The Miami Dolphins are well-positioned in the 2020 NFL Draft, with three first-round picks and six picks in the top 70. They have the capital to trade up and secure who they want, most likely being a quarterback, and it might take a trade up to get this guy come draft day. Here in this mock, the Dolphins get Tua Tagovailoa.

It’s been good news so far for Tagovailoa during the draft process after his major injury back in the fall. He had a checkup this past week revealing the fracture had healed. He likely won’t be ready in time to participate in combine drills, but Tagovailoa will get to meet with teams and his great character traits will be evident to teams.

Tagovailoa came into the 2019 season as the top quarterback prospect, and if everything checks out okay medically, he will be neck and neck with Burrow in this writer’s opinion. Tagovailoa brings a lot of talent to the quarterback position. He has great ball placement in short and intermediate windows and shows he can diagnose a defense and make correct reads. He also improved a ton with his pocket mobility. The Dolphins get their guy, even if he has to sit a bit in 2020.
