Jeffrey Okudah. 3. player. 50. Ohio State. Cornerback. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Detroit Lions need to make noise in the 2020 season, especially if head coach Matt Patricia wants to stay on for the future. That noise needs to start in the 2020 NFL Draft.

There have been trade rumors surrounding the Lions and quarterback Matthew Stafford in the past week, but those have since been shot down. It doesn’t make sense for the Lions to start over at quarterback with Patricia in the situation he’s in, and despite Stafford’s injuries, he’s still hanging around as a fringe top 10 quarterback in the league.

If Washington doesn’t take Chase Young, I’m sure the Lions would be elated. Unfortunately for them, it doesn’t happen here, but they happily settle for Jeffrey Okudah in this spot.

Okudah is an excellent corner prospect and he’s up there with the top prospects at the position in the last few seasons. He’s plenty big enough to play the position on the outside (6-foot-1 and 200 pounds) but doesn’t really press that much. Then again, he doesn’t need to. His footwork is outstanding, he has great recovery speed, and is competitive at the catch point. Pairing him with Darius Slay on the outside and Justin Coleman in the slot gives the Lions a very good secondary.
