Scouting Report. Linebacker. Wisconsin. Zack Baun. 32. 124. Pick Analysis. player

Last, but not least, the Kansas City Chiefs round us out here in round one of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Super Bowl champs put together one of the most fun title runs in recent memory, coming back from a double-digit deficit to win each game in the postseason. Andy Reid‘s creativity and the arm of Patrick Mahomes led them to a title, along with a defense that created stops when they needed to.

When it comes to the 2020 NFL Draft, the defense will likely be the focus for Brett Veach and company. They could use some help on the edge, and they need to get faster at linebacker. By picking Zack Baun, they take care of two needs with one player.

Baun played on the edge for the Badgers, registering 12.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss in 2019. His ability to bend the edge was outstanding all season long, and he has the athleticism and first step to set up tackles and win inside. At the Senior Bowl, Baun took a lot of reps at linebacker, where he might play in the NFL due to his size. Baun is a good enough athlete to make the switch. The Chiefs would happily use him in both spots to make an impact on their defense.
