Oklahoma. player. Scouting Report. Linebacker. 30. 49. Pick Analysis. Kenneth Murray

What a turnaround for the Green Bay Packers in their first season under head coach Matt LaFleur. The Packers went from a 6-9-1 team to a 13-3 division winner. They also earned a berth to the NFC Championship game. They ended up falling short, but now it’s up to general manager Brian Gutekunst to keep this team winning and in contention with the window closing for Aaron Rodgers.

Pass catcher is definitely a need for this team, but the Packers have always addressed wide receiver in the second round, and with a deep class in the 2020 NFL Draft, they can wait again.

What Green Bay can’t wait on is an impact linebacker, especially with Blake Martinez potentially entering free agency. Oren Burks hasn’t shown anywhere near enough to be counted on to lead the linebacking core, so in comes Kenneth Murray.

Murray would fit in very well in Mike Pettine’s defense. He is a downhill linebacker who can fill gaps and finish plays by knocking players backward. Murray has a knack for diagnosing plays in front of him and has the speed to work sideline to sideline. He isn’t the best in coverage, but Pettine doesn’t usually ask his linebackers to work in coverage much. This is a perfect fit for Murray.
