2020 NFL Draft: Henry Ruggs goes top 10 in first-round NFL mock draft
The Tennessee Titans put together quite a run at the end of the 2019 season behind ridiculous play from running back Derrick Henry and timely play from quarterback Ryan Tannehill. They came up just one game short of the Super Bowl after building a 10 point lead.
Now comes the offseason, and big questions along with it. Both Tannehill and Henry are free agents, but both are likely to return. If the Titans are smart, they’ll make Tannehill’s deal a short term one for him to prove his season wasn’t a one year wonder.
The Titans opt to look to the future at the quarterback position in the 2020 NFL Draft by selecting Washington’s Jacob Eason here at 29. Eason has incredible arm talent, often fitting the ball into tight windows that don’t seem possible. He looked a lot better with touch on the ball and with his footwork in 2019 as well.
So why doesn’t Eason go higher? His ability to read the field isn’t great, and he often gets baited into brutal interceptions. He will need time to develop, but he gets drafted into an offense revolving around the running game and shot plays on play-action, an area where Eason can thrive.
