2020 NFL Draft: Henry Ruggs goes top 10 in first-round NFL mock draft
The Seattle Seahawks have baffled us in past drafts, with selections like Rashaad Penny and L.J. Collier. They made a heck of a run in 2019 on the shoulders of an outstanding Russell Wilson campaign. D.K. Metcalf made a great impact in his rookie season, and the defense played well all things considered with Jadeveon Clowney at the center. However, now Clowney and defensive tackle Jarran Reed are both free agents, with no guarantees of return.
Seattle has needs both on the offensive and defensive lines, but it’s always been difficult to pin down who they’ll select. That’s why we’re going off the board with this pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Notre Dame edge rusher Julian Okwara would be exactly the off the book selection to expect.
Okwara dealt with injuries at the end of his 2019 campaign and only finished with five sacks on the season. However, his upside as a speed rusher is certainly there. He can bend the edge to create pressure but has good length and strong hands. Okwara needs a little refinement to become a stud at the next level, but that’s exactly what he can get if he heads to Seattle in this defensive line rebuild.
