2020 NFL Draft: Henry Ruggs goes top 10 in first-round NFL mock draft
The Las Vegas Raiders are back on the clock now after drafting CeeDee Lamb with their first pick in the round. We mentioned earlier about the depth of the corner position in the 2020 NFL Draft, and it’s important for the Raiders to dip into the talent pool at this point.
Yes, the Raiders took Trayvon Mullen in the third round of the 2019 draft. They also traded away former first-round pick Gareon Conley to the Houston Texans, and have just two corners under contract past the 2020 season. Yes, the time is now.
Kristian Fulton is the pick here for Las Vegas (which sounds strange to say). Fulton has been at the top of boards ever since the college football season started. His play in 2018 was deemed better than teammate Greedy Williams, who was selected in the 2019 draft, so the expectations were high heading into 2019.
As far as his play in 2019? It had its highs and its lows. Fulton operates extremely well near the line of scrimmage, where he can use his quickness and mirroring skills to stick with receivers in man coverage. His recovery quickness is another bright spot. Fulton does struggle a bit down the field, often mistiming jumps against bigger receivers. However, there’s more than enough positive to make him the selection at 19.
