2020 NFL Draft: Henry Ruggs goes top 10 in first-round NFL mock draft
It’s back on the clock for the Miami Dolphins, who already have their quarterback of the future in the building in Tua Tagovailoa. Now it’s time to figure out how to protect him and build the offensive line. The top four tackles are off the board at this point, but a fifth one has slowly been rising to join them.
Houston’s Josh Jones has been one of the risers of the 2020 NFL Draft so far. He received an invite to the Senior Bowl in Mobile and put together a great week of practice. He showed the mean streak he has at the position and buried a few defenders during the week. There’s some of that same mean streak on tape. Jones has the mobility and footwork to keep in front of defenders, and we’ve seen his physical nature, which will fit in well.
The real question surrounding his game at this point is his hand placement. Jones needs to time his initial strike better to keep leverage against his opponents, something a good coaching staff can work with.
One player doesn’t make an offensive line, but Jones is a good start for the Dolphins, who need an offensive line to protect Tua Tagovailoa and ignite the running game.
