2020 NFL Draft: Henry Ruggs goes top 10 in first-round NFL mock draft
The Dallas Cowboys are in for a tumultuous offseason after missing the playoffs. Jason Garrett is out and Mike McCarthy is in, which should bring stability. However, their (potentially) $40 million quarterback is a free agent in a month, and it doesn’t seem like a long term deal is close. Let’s also not forget about Amari Cooper, who Dallas gave up a first-round pick for. He will command top dollar but is by far the best pass-catcher for the Cowboys right now.
Even if they get both Prescott’s and Cooper’s deals done, another big free agent remains. Byron Jones has been a shutdown corner for the Cowboys, but they may have to let him walk in free agency, where he will get a huge deal.
The absence of Jones will leave a big hole in the secondary that needs to be addressed in the 2020 NFL Draft. The good news is that the corner class oozes talent at the top, and Dallas is in prime position to select one. In this mock draft, they go with C.J. Henderson.
Henderson got off to a rough start against Miami, where his tackling ability, along with his tackling effort, dropped him quickly down boards. He responded well the rest of the season, showing why he can be a shutdown corner. His route recognition and quickness could bring an instant impact to Dallas.
