14. player. 48. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. South Carolina. Javon Kinlaw. Defensive Tackle

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have some looming questions this offseason, and the major question surrounds quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston is a free agent in March, and after a 2019 season that featured him throwing 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions, doubt continues to creep in as to whether or not he can help the Bucs to the playoffs. Despite the questions, it seems likely Winston is at least back for 2020 to prove his worth.

That shifts the priority in the 2020 NFL Draft for the Bucs, as their other main concerns lie in the trenches. The offensive line could definitely use some work opposite tackle Donovan Smith, but there isn’t much value on the board. On defense, Ndamukong Suh, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Shaq Barrett are all free agents. It’s likely all three aren’t back, so defensive line comes into focus.

Javon Kinlaw would be an excellent selection for the Bucs. Kinlaw was a force for South Carolina in 2019 after returning for his senior season. He’s every bit the pass rusher teams want on the interior and has crazy good movement skills for his size. Letting him penetrate on the defensive line while Vita Vea eats space would be an excellent duo for Tampa Bay in 2020.
