2020 NFL Draft: Huge trades shake up two-round mock draft
Although the Arizona Cardinals could certainly go offensive line here, the value of a player like Derrick Brown even at eight overall is simply too enticing to pass on.
The Cardinals have one of the best edge rushers in the NFL in Chandler Jones, and Brown would make life very difficult for opposing offenses if he were to join forces wit him.
There were not many defensive linemen in college football this year as dominant as Brown, who could have easily been a top 20 pick had he come out of college a year ago.
His decision and risk to come back to school for another year paid off, and he’s now a lock for the top 10 picks barring anything shocking.
The Cardinals under Vance Joseph are going to be in a lot of 5-2 looks on the defensive front, and Brown’s ability to play multiple positions on the interior line and the possibility of him playing right next to Chandler Jones would make this a potentially deadly combination for Arizona for the foreseeable future.
