TRADE

This is a steep price for the Dolphins to have to pay, but that’s the going rate for moving up for a quarterback, especially one of Tagovailoa’s caliber.

The Dolphins need to get their quarterback position solidified. We’ve been talking for almost a year about how this team appears to be tanking for Tua, and this means mission complete, right?

Coughing up the 26th overall pick for Tagovailoa isn’t going to sit well with Dolphins fans, but it’s a necessary price to pay to ensure no other team moves up or beats them out for a player like Tua.

This is a franchise-altering move. If Tagovailoa stays healthy, he reminds me of a left-handed Russell Wilson. He has drawn comparisons to Drew Brees from others.

This guy is athletic, his left arm is a deadly weapon in the NFL, and he’s got the ability to get the Dolphins in contention rather quickly as long as he’s on the field.

His health is a definite question mark, but if those issues can be cleared up before the draft (the hip injury seems more of a freak injury than a question of durability) then he is easily worth this trade up.
